Monica Sowinski
Voice Instructor
Monica Sowinski is a Polish-Canadian soprano from Vancouver, British Columbia. She has recently completed the Masters in Voice Performance and Vocal Pedagogy at the University of Toronto while studying with soprano Lorna MacDonald. She received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance at Western University in London, ON, and a Music Diploma from Capilano University in Vancouver, BC. Monica loves performing in recitals as well as on the operatic stage. Operatic roles include 1st Lady (The Magic Flute) in Lorna MacDonald’s 2018 Studio Production, Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) and Sandman (Hansel and Gretel) with UWOpera, and Suor Dolcina (Suor Angelica) with Accademia Europea Dell’Opera (AEDO) in Lucca, Italy.
As a voice teacher, Monica is passionate about helping her students cultivate their own unique voice in a healthy way. Her goal is to help singers cultivate strong vocal technique and physical awareness through a fun and supportive learning environment!
