Group Theory Class

Are you curious about how music is composed and why it functions the way it does? Starting in October during the Fall 2017 term, we will be offering a course that will prepare students for the grade 5 & 6 RCM Theory exams that will be held in May 2018. This course will cover the required components of each exam and will be held from October 2017-May 2018, with the last two months focusing on exam preparation in order to prepare students for a successful test experience. Supplementing the required theory, analysis there will be elements of ear-training and history incorporated as needed.

There will be a book fee of approximately $40.00 for the theory workbook and practice exam. Royal Conservatory Examination Fees are not included in this course.

**Please note a basic playing proficiency is required in order to take this course, preferably around an RCM grade 4-5 playing, and reading proficiency, or by approval of the instructor. If interested, consult your private instructor to determine if you meet the requirements
