How to Get the Most Out of Online Lessons
Here are 3 TIPS that will help you or your child get the most out of Online Music Lessons!
1. Good Internet Connection
Having a good internet connection is key to having a good online lesson experience and to have no or minimal lagging in the lesson. Here are some tips on how to improve your internet connection:
- Free up Bandwidth (make sure no one else is using the wifi during your lesson time, if possible).
- Connect your device directly to the router.
- Move the router closer to the space you are having your lesson in.
- Upgrade the internet to the higher quality internet connection.
2. Be Prepared!
Always make sure you and or your child is ready to go before the lesson begins. Here are a few things you may need to have ready: Your music books / lyrics, pencil, highlighter and login a few minutes before your lesson time.
This might sounds simple but we often forget how noisey our homes can be! A quiet learning space helps students focus on their lesson instead of what is al happening around them.
3. Use a Device that has a Bigger Screen
Using a device with a bigger screen e.g. iPad, Tablet, or computer will make it much easier for you to see the instructor, whiteboard, fingering ect. When setting up your device, make sure that you have it in a place where you are able to see it well. Some of our instructors really like this stand for iPads and Tablets.
