5 Easy Christmas Songs on Piano
The Christmas season is upon us, and everyone is busy preparing – including music students! Whether you or your child has just started piano lessons, or whether you are learning to accompany your family of carolers, here are 5 easy Christmas songs on piano:
- JINGLE BELLS – Kids love to play this song, and it’s a great one to sing and play with family and friends! This song can be found in many beginner piano Christmas books, but if you’re having trouble finding a version you like, here is an option with chords, and here is another option with right and left-hand.
- WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS – This is also a great song to sing and play! This version has chords, but you can also choose to simply play the melody with your right hand if you prefer.
- UP ON THE HOUSETOP – “Up on the Housetop” is another fun and catchy Christmas song to learn! This version has right and left-hand parts, but again, you could simplify it by playing the melody with your right hand.
- SILENT NIGHT – If you prefer songs with a slower tempo and pretty melodies, Silent Night is a wonderful option for you. Your instructor can also show you how to use the sustain pedal to add to the wow factor!
- CAROL OF THE BELLS – Get ready to impress with this piece! This song is not exactly easy, but there are some simpler arrangements you can find (like this one), and it is quite repetitive. Once you master the four main lines of the song, you pretty much know the whole thing!
