Annual Registration Fee

The Registration fee will be charged once per school term (September - June) per student or family. The annual registration fee is non-refundable. Tuition is paid separately.

Terms

Attendance

Missed Group Classes are non-refundable unless the school cancels the class.
There are no make up lessons for missed Group Classes
If the student comes to their class sick or with cold symptoms, they will be asked to leave the class and the instructor will email the homework.
If the instructor is sick, the class will either be moved to an online class for that week or when possible, another instructor will fill in to teach the class in person. If either option is not available, the class will be rescheduled for another time
If MSI Langley needs to close at any point during the school year for the safety of our staff and students due to Covid-19, lessons will continue online via Zoom. Tuition will be adjusted accordingly if needed.
MSI Langley reserves the right to cancel any group classes that do not have sufficient enrolment.

Withdrawal

Non-attendance is not confirmation of withdrawal.
Students wishing to discontinue lessons before April 1, 2025 must notify the Music School one (1) month in advance in writing. If notice is not received, the Student will continue to be charged for lessons.
Upon termination of lessons, any prepaid lessons not taken will be refunded to the student (excluding those that fall within one (1) month of withdrawal).
April 1, 2025 is the last day for students to withdraw from lessons with a months notice. After this date, the tuition will continue to be charged until the end of the current school term. Withdrawal notice must be given in writing. **Exceptions to this policy will be made if you are moving out of the area, or for compassionate grounds such as a prolonged illness (in this case a doctor’s note will be required.)**

Lesson Schedule

The full School Term consists of 33 weeks of lessons scheduled on Mondays, 38 weeks of lessons scheduled on Tuesdays and Fridays, 39 weeks of lessons scheduled on Wednesdays and Thursdays and 37 weeks of lessons scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays. Lessons will begin Tuesday Sept. 3rd, 2024 and end on Friday June 27th, 2025. Lessons that are not included in the school term are Truth and Reconciliation Day (Sept. 30th), Thanksgiving Monday (Oct. 14th), Remembrance Day (Nov. 11th), Christmas Break (Dec.23rd-Jan. 5th), Family Day (Feb. 17th), Spring Break (March 17th- March 30th), Victoria Day Weekend (May 17th – 19th) and Recital Day (June 17th). Lessons will be taught on the Thanksgiving Saturday & Sunday weekend and Easter Monday.

Lesson Payments

All lessons are paid for in advance. Music Schools International Langley REQUIRES that lesson payments be made through PREAUTHORIZED bank debit. The first 4 lessons must be paid for prior to starting lessons after which the automatic payments will take effect. Payment on a weekly basis is not permitted. A $25.00 NSF Fee will be charged on ALL returned/failed payments. Please note that the bank requires ten business days to cancel preauthorized bank debit.

Authorization

I/We the Payer, hereby authorize the Payee – Music Schools International Langley to withdraw from the bank account indicated for Music Lessons payment after or on the 1st of each month for the duration of the lessons. I/We waive any and all requirements for pre-notification of debiting, including pre-notification of any changes in the amount due to lesson rate change, enrollment changes or additional lessons taken in the month. I/We also agree that all outstanding lesson payments may be withdrawn after withdrawal from lessons. I/We warrant and guarantee that the person(s) whose signature(s) are required to sign on the Account have signed the authorization.

Change or Cancellation

I may revoke my authorization at any time in writing or by phone, subject to providing notice of at least ten (10) business days. To obtain a sample cancellation form, or for more information on your right to cancel a PAD Agreement, I may contact my financial institution or visit www.cdypay.ca.

Reimbursement

I have certain recourse rights if any debit does not comply with this agreement. For example, I have the right to receive reimbursement for any debit that is not authorized or is not consistent with the PAD Agreement.
